information is designed to help educators, domestic and international students
and those involved with rangatahi learn about available financial study
assistance (grants, subsidies and bursaries) available to them in NZ, to assist
with further study within the fields of Tourism and Hospitality across all
tertiary study levels. Go with Tourism have done our best to ensure that all
details are correct at time of listing (July 2023) but apologise that some scholarship /
funding programs may not be running post-Covid.
Tourism and Hospitality Focused Scholarships
Queenstown Resort College National Scholarships
2 National Scholarships available annually to NZ Citizens or PRs; one for Hospitality Management Diploma and two for Adventure Tourism Management Diploma at the Queenstown Campus. Scholarships are based on merit and true desire to be part of the industry, valued at $6,000, and will be used towards the cost of a student’s second year Diploma tuition fee. To be eligible to apply for a scholarship, a diploma application for study at the QRC Queenstown campus in 2024 must be submitted in 2023 and prior to the scholarship closing date of Wednesday, 11th October 2023.

Scholarship
The
TINZT Tourism Academic Scholarships are open annually to young New Zealanders
about to commence their final year of tertiary study in a tourism-related
course. Up to two scholarships
may be awarded per
year to applicants completing either Level 4-6 qualifications
or completing Level
7 and above. Valued
at $4000, each scholarship comprises a $2500 payment towards the recipient’s
final year of study in a tourism-related tertiary course, along with attendance
at the Tourism Summit Aotearoa. Recipients will also receive a day of placement
and networking with Hamilton-based tourism operators and organisations, a TIA
mentor, and continued support from TIA post-study to encourage industry
engagement.

Memorial Scholarship
Students enrolling in any fulltime outdoor pursuits programme (NZ Certificate in Outdoor and Adventure Education, NZ Diploma in Outdoor Adventure Education, or the NZ Certificate in Snowsport Patrol and Avlanche Risk Managment) at Tai Poutini Polytechnic are eligible for one of up to five scholarships. Applicants are required to be New Zealand citizens. The value of the scholarships varies – in the past few years the amount awarded has been between $1,000 and $1,300 each for programme fees or course-related costs and expenses.

Institute of Studies Scholarship
The AIS Scholarship award recipient will have 50% of their tuition fees
paid for their first year of study on any Diploma, Bachelor degree, Graduate
Diploma, Postgraduate Diploma or Master's programme, including MBA and MIT. This scholarship could save students up to $6,750. To be
eligible, students must be a Citizen or Permanent Resident of New Zealand, the
Cook Islands, Tokelau, Niue, or Australia, and achieve the relevant standard
AIS programme entry requirements. Applications will be selected based on
academic merit and financial need. The process will be a contestable process
each semester with a cut-off date of four weeks prior to the commencement of
the semester for applications to be submitted for consideration.
Five Chairman's Scholarships give eligible domestic students the chance to have their fees paid in entirety for a three-year bachelor degree in either, Hospitality Management, Business or Tourism Management, valued at up to $17,520. To be eligible, students must be a citizen or permanent resident of New Zealand, the Cook Islands, Tokelau, Niue, or Australia and aged 17 or over. Students must also meet the entry requirements of the degree for which they have been nominated and have some School and Community Involvement. Applications close 16 December.

Scholarship supports the wellbeing of youth in Aotearoa to develop
by learning through adventure. Covers the cost of a Hillary Outdoors programme

Bragato Trust Undergraduate
Scholarship
There are multiple scholarships available through the Bragato Trust which provide New Zealand resident graduates and exceptional undergraduates to gain further qualifications or experience, in New Zealand or elsewhere, in subjects of relevance to the viticulture and wine industry. These include:
- An Undergraduate Award of up to $3,500
- A Postgraduate Scholarship of up to $15,000
- A Research Fellowship of up to $15,000

Scholarships
Three scholarships available to students who meet all the standard minimum entry criteria other than academic qualifications. Each scholarship valued at $4500, to cover the cost of the Private Pilot License theory course only. Theory course is offered in February, May and August. Scholarships will be awarded to a:

Crown Institute of Studies Educational
Scholarship Trip
Crown arrange an annual 4 to 5-day scholarship educational trip for both students nominated by their high schools and high achievers studying at Crown. The destination of the trip is either domestic or overseas and is sponsored and supported by Crown’s local and international partners. The intensive trip is filled with seminars, site visits and activities. Students get the opportunity to meet leaders from various industries; government officials, senior executives from multinational corporates, business owners and representatives from NGOs. Through these encounters, students can gain deeper understandings on topics such as corporate culture, international collaboration, market development, global trends, leadership, crisis management within the field of tourism. Lincoln University
This scholarship was established in 2018 to support Māori students who are entering into undergraduate study at Lincoln University and who intend to pursue a degree in the Tourism field. Valued at $5000 for one year. Apply using above link by 31 March.
Hogan Hurst Horticulture Scholarship

DOC Postgraduate Scholarship Programme

A limited number of partial scholarships based on academic merit and attendance for those studying Hospitality Management (amongst other programmes). Apply using link above
EA offer ski and snowboard internships to help people get into the snow-sports industry. Programs allow those involved to get trained, qualified and guaranteed a job offer, all in one season. To be considered for the scholarship applicants must demonstrate a passion for the snow, a positive work ethic and a desire to travel and learn. Victoria University of Wellington
One scholarship available to ex-students who attended either Marlborough Boys’ College or

Excellence Scholarship
To recruit and support high-achieving undergrads studying in NZ. Majority of scholarships valued at $20,000, awarded over three years towards tuition fees. Applicants must be international school leavers who have completed at least one full year of study at a NZ secondary school, be enrolling in Trimester 1 of the year following application and enrolling in their first undergraduate degree. To recruit international undergrads currently studying at NZ Secondary Schools. Grants valued at $2,000 go towards tuition fees. Academic Achievement Scholarship
To recruit and support high achieving, well rounded Latin American students. Applicants
must be enrolling in a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate degree. Award will apply only to new students who have not previously been

Lawson Robinson Hawke's Bay A&P Society Scholarship
Scholarship recognizes outstanding academic and leadership qualities in a student currently enrolled in a full-time land-based production industries programme. Preference given to applicants within one year of completing their studies. Scholarships available for new students to the university who have gained high academic grades, endorsed with excellence, in NCEA Level 1 or 2, or equivalent.
