Department of Conservation Nelson
With 3 national parks in the region – the Abel Tasman, Kahurangi and Nelson Lakes National Park – you can enjoy everything from golden beaches to high mountain peaks in Nelson and Tasman.

Paddle Nelson
Kayak Hire and Tours in Nelson are lucky to have easy access to some amazing kayak adventures right on the doorstep. Kayaking is a comfortable, easy way to get out on the water and discover the Haven’s historical past, unique geological features and diverse marine wildlife. Grab a sit-on-top kayak for hire by the hour, or join one of the awesome guided adventures to the Lighthouse. Groups can also add a bike trip, with the Peddle and Paddle tour.

Cable Bay Adventure Park
Cable Bay Adventure Park is Nelson's adventure destination. Located just 15mins drive from the centre of Nelson, it’s home to a wide range of adventure activities, including Skywire Experience, Quad Bike Tours, Mountain Biking, eBikes, Paintball and Argo (an amphibious all-terrain, 8-wheel vehicle). - The Skywire Experience: The main attraction is one of the World’s longest Flying Fox’s and a one-of-a-kind experience combining an amazing scenic ride with a shot of adrenaline, flying high above the forest canopy. Skywire seats 4 flyers at a time, for approx. 1000m of gravity assisted free-wheeling, reaching speeds of up to 100kph, followed by 600m at a more leisurely pace. The ride is ideal for taking in the incredible scenery, then you do it all again – backwards!

Nelson Cycle Hire and Tours
Nelson Cycle Hire can provide everything your group will need for safe, enjoyable trail riding. Their cycles offer comfort, no matter what the terrain and are 'bullet proof', with comfort features for both on and easy, off-road riding, including an upright riding position and soft saddle. All bikes are equipped with front fork suspension and come in a range of sizes to enjoy on the numerous rides around the Nelson area.

Natureland Wildlife Trust
Natureland is Nelson's Zoo and Wildlife Conservation Centre where groups can get up close and personal to some unique NZ natives like Tuatara and Kea. Visitors can hang with the monkeys and get hands-on with a range of interesting domestic animals. A community-focused charitable trust that has a QualMark silver award and is listed as a Nelson-Tasman Top 10 thing to do!

Other: The aim of Natureland is to be a space that can be a platform for, not only for the current projects, but also to share stories about the work that other people and groups are also doing to save wildlife. No single organization can accomplish wildlife conservation all on its own. Natureland works with other members of the Zoo and Aquarium Association, Nelson City Council, the Department of Conservation and it’s conservation partners to achieve great outcomes.
Pic's Peanut Butter World
Join a group of peanut butter enthusiasts from all around the world to hear the Pic's story, learn all about their peanuts and watch what goes on, on the factory floor. Have a go at making your own peanut butter and taste some yummy Pic’s goodies!

Kaiteriteri Recreation Reserve
A fantastic option for staying right on the beach. Although a Crown entity, Kaiteriteri Recreation Reserve is not government funded. Businesses on the Reserve, and governed by the Kaiteriteri Recreation Reserve include: the Kaiteriteri Reserve Camp, Kaiteriteri Reserve Apartments, KaiteriteriStore, restaurants Kai and Gone Burgers and the Kaiteriteri Mountain Bike Park are private companies. These businesses fully fund the Reserve and 100% of profits are invested back into Kaiteriteri. Some other businesses operate on the Reserve and do so through DOC concession agreements. These include the NPD self-service petrol station, water transport, kayaking and mountain bike hire companies.
